Welcome to the newly designed website of the Florida Board of Governors and the State University System!
We are proud of our institutions, our staff, and the mission of the Board of Governors. Without a doubt, the work done by our public universities can make a difference for Florida and for around the world!
In 2002, nearly three million voters created the Board of Governors because they believed there was much work to be done on behalf of students and our eleven universities.
The passage of the constitutional amendment called for a governing board to fully "operate, regulate, control, and be fully responsible for the management of the whole university system." With a brand new look, a new format and tools to help navigate the site, we intend to highlight and promote the value of Florida's state university system. We hope you find the site useful and informative!
These pages, plus our many research and policy reports, are provided for students, their families, faculty, university administrators and the general public to disseminate knowledge that we feel is important to the education community.
