Florida Atlantic University serves more than 26,000 students on seven campuses from Port St. Lucie to Davie. Students can choose from more than 170 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees offered through the nine colleges. FAU was originally an upper-division and graduate institution to serve graduates of the community college system. In 1984, population growth necessitated increased access to higher education, resulting in the shift to a four-year university.
